The Huddleston Centre is a registered Charity (1032300) and Company Limited by Guarantee (2856946) working with disabled young people aged between 9 and 25 in the London Borough of Hackney.
The Huddleston was founded 30 years ago by a group of parents who wanted somewhere for their disabled children to be able to go and have fun.
Archbishop Trevor Huddleston allowed these parents to create the Centre out of the rear half of St James the Great Church in Hackney, creating a unique space arranged over 3 floors.
Our projects aim to enhance the social, educational, developmental and recreational needs of the young people, whilst recognizing the changing nature of the wider communities within which they live.
We provide a high quality flexible service with a well-trained, committed team of staff.
The Charity mainly runs clubs on week-day evenings during school term times, but also subject to funding we run play and activity schemes during the holiday periods and also often take young people on residential trips.
As a part of our services we also collect the young people from their homes and bring them to the club and after the session take them home.
